Arm Yourself with Shiitake Mushroom Tea this Flu Season

Here we are on November 4, 2022 almost the end of the year already.  Wow did this year fly by. Can ready for the winter months for those reading this who live up North.  Make sure you get your flu shot as I hear that this year’s flu is pretty bad.

A few years ago, I found a recipe for a wonderful tea made out of my of the most important superfoods you want in your diet, SHIITAKE MUSHROOMS.  Shiitake mushrooms have so many benefits, but here is a list of just a few:

  • BOOST IMMUNE SYSTEM
  • LOWERING BLOOD CHOLESTEROL LEVELS
  • HARDENING OF THE ARTERIES
  • DIABETES
  • ECZEMA
  • COLDS AND FLU
  • PROSTATE OR BREAST CANCER
  • ANTI-AGING AGENT

I don't know who gets credit for this recipe because I had it written on a napkin so maybe a friend was telling me about it.  Well either way

Here it Is:

INGREDIENTS:

  • 4 SHIITAKE MUSHROOM CAPS
  • 4 CUPS FILTERED WATER
  • PINCH OF SEA SALT
  • PINCH OF BLACK PEPPER
  • 2 TEASPOONS TUMERIC POWDER

DIRECTIONS:

1.     SOAK 4 DRY OR FRESH MUSHROOMS FOR ONE HOUR IN 4 CUPS OF WATER

2.     SLIKE THE SHIITAKE AND BRING THE MUSHROOMSWITH THE SOAKING WATER AND A PINCH OF SEAL SALT TO BOIL. SIMMER FOR 25 MINUTES, OR UNTIL THE LIQUID HAS REDUCED TO HALF.

3.     STIR IN 2 TEASPOONS OF TUMERIC AND A PINCH OF BLACK PEPPER UNTIL FULLY DISSOLVED, ABOUT 1 TO 2 MINUTES.  SERVE HOT.

ENJOY!
